A Little about Me...
I was bit by the cake bug at a very early age, I have always enjoyed baking and really just wanted to arrive at a great tasting cake...isn't that the whole point of cake after all?? As time evolved I have also found the wisdom in making a great tasting cake look just as fabulous! It takes a lot of practice and trial/error to master the sugar art world, and is an ever changing industry.
I bake and decorate in an ammaculate LISCENCED and Insured Commercial Bakery. Please rest assured knowing that we are held to extremely rigid guideline for cleanliness, and in our strive for excellence your cake is baked and decorated with a lot of love, in a clean and well maintained environment. This is important because when ordering from anyone baking from their home, it is illegal for a reason...it is not inspected for health and safety codes and the environment is not safegaurded against family members and pets. I will gladly provide ANY of my customers with our business liscence information and insurance as most high end venues require a legal liscensed and insured baker to provide product.
My love of art, cuisine and a keen eye for detail keep my fingers to the pulse of special event, and Wedding cake trends, most edgier of which originating in the UK, I also attend numerous wedding cake competitions across the United States. As an ICES member, Sugar art is a medium to which I love to be creative, and gain wisdom from others in the field.
For me, being taught by the greatest sugar artists in the world is my desire. I plan on taking classes throughout my career, to date I have taken classes with several Food Network Challenge winners and contestants some celebrity cake decorators of whom I have been taught...Debbie Brown (UK), Margaret Ford (UK), Toba Garrett (NY), Collette Peters (NY), Nicholas Lodge (GA), Norman R. Davis (VA), Susan Carberry (CA), Rebecca Sutterby (KS), Marina Sousa (CA), Dawn Nemic (CA) and several with Bronwen Weber (TX) to name a few. I plan on attending MANY more in the future as well.
I am a Wilton Method Instructor and love passing on my knowledge to other future cake decorators in our area. I currently teach for the Lee's Summit Michaels Arts & Crafts store located off of Chipman Road in Missouri.
I am proud to offer a quality product to a customer base that has flourished over the last few years, and will continue to do so. I may not be able to accomodate every event, nor will you find us to be the least expensive but you WILL find us to be the best. Our cakes are high end centerpieces that are tasty and unique, and I think my dear grandmother said it the best, "You get what you pay for" and to that end we deliver. I will never strive to create mass produced cakes for our clientele, only the BEST quality products that I sincerely hope upon tasting, will make you want to start planning your next event!
